Player Focus: Amauri Coleman (Class Of ’21) 6-3 Guard – Peabody Magnet High School (Alexandria, LA)

November 16, 2020

Amauri Coleman (Class Of ’21) is a 6-3 combo guard from Peabody Magnet High School in Alexandria, Louisiana. Coleman is currently uncomitted.

Amauri Coleman is a player that had to wait his turn to be next up to be the next man up playing on a Peabody Warhorse squad that was loaded at the guard position the last 3 years.

Last season, Coleman showed that he was capable of stepping up to the plate and playing on the big stage when he had coming out party against another Louisiana Powerhouse, Madison Prep (Baton Rouge, LA). Coleman scored in double figures, made a number of clutch free-throws and shots and defensive stops down the stretch of that game to seal the victory.

Coleman is a gamer and true competitor. He is an excellent rebounder and pushes the ball well in transition. Coleman possesses a great understanding of how to fill the lanes correctly when running the break and finishes well at the rim. Coleman is a versatile player that can play both guard positions and is a excellent mid-range scorer and has the ability to step out and shoot the 3-Ball. Coleman is an excellent free-throw shooter and has great court vision and is a next level defender that does a superior job of playing the passing lanes and pressuring the ball handler. This kid is a very hard worker and takes a business trip approach every time he steps in the gym. True next level work ethnic.

Coaches, this kid will be a great addition to any program on any level!!!!
